What happened to my little girl who didn't even know what C-A-N-D-Y was at Halloween?
She is now obsessed with all things junk. Want proof? Check out the video of her eating potato chips and dip on our kitchen counter. (Don't ask me why she isn't wearing clothes and why she is sitting on the counter. All I can say is that she is approaching the age of two.) Or view the pic of HER eating MY giant sized candy bar on Christmas morning. Hey, I think Santa left that in my stocking thank you!
I now must spell out words like C-O-O-K-I-E-S and hide anything with a shiny, plastic wrapper.
Candy or not, she'll beg for it regardless. I am really hoping that her obsession with the toothbrush is countering the sweet tooth. Fingers crossed...

oh, this is so familiar. at this age they can pester so much that you just want to give in. it IS best to just hide it and spell it out so that you don't have to deal with the drama. i'm finding that older kids make that harder. they don't understand subtlety in the slightest!
bronwen is forever on the counter these days, helping herself to anything she wants and tasting anything i'm making. i'm trying hard to encourage her curiosity and willingness to help when really i want to put her in a playpen!
I just let Eli have his first gummy bear. What was I thinking?
Calli is to cute! As a mom you just need to focus on the positive... at least she dipped the chip and then ate it instead of licking the dip off and using the same chip to dip again!
I'm blaming it on the age. Annie is the same way. I had to laugh because Annie could be up there on the counter and the scenario would be no different. Even when I tell her we don't have any she tells me, "I see."...Then I have to lift her to eye level of the fridge where stuff is usually hidden, she doesn't trust me. Cookies are the first thing she asks for when she gets up, followed by candy, cheerios is #3 on the list.
If you don't want Calli to eat chips, just give her a Habanero Dorito. She'll never want another chip ever again. Although that might be border line child abuse!
