So let's set the record straight. I am okay and have a list of blog entries to be... I'll even post my list so I can be held accountable to get them out there. Before I do, let me wish all of you a Happy New Year and share our news, times two.
News Item #1: We are happy to say that a baby boy will be joining our family sometime near the end of May. Though I am fighting off some anxiety about being responsible for a newborn and a two-year-old AT THE SAME TIME, I am very excited all the same. Mostly, I am glad to be feeling better.
News Item #2: Dan started a new job with the State of California. He's still working as an engineer, but does a different type of work. In a nutshell (according to my non-engineer brain) he is no longer designing buildings, but analyzing them, seismic (earthquake) evaluations.
Between those things and the holiday season, in which we traveled for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, blogging somehow took the backseat. Really, when I started the whole blog thing, I was ambitious, but it seemed major roadblocks got in the way. First, we had tons of family weddings and get-togethers this summer, then my kitchen was torn apart for forever, then we got totally swamped in the PROP. 8 battle and then I got pregnant. So I apologize and promise to do a LITTLE better, at least until May. :)
Here's the things I plan to write about in the near future:
1) My Christmas present from 2007 that I finally got to enjoy in 2008
2) Double Dipping
3) Our Thanksgiving in Arizona
4) December in CA
5) Our Christmas in West Virginia
6) BUBBLES!
7) Why is the Zebra wearing tennis shoes?
8) My completed kitchen, that is, when it's complete
Thanks to all of you who have kept in touch with us this Christmas season. We've been blessed with incredible family and friends and have really enjoyed looking at all the cards, family photos and blogs out there. Hopefully we are returning the favor now (or will be soon). Enjoy!

Congratulations! That is so exciting. I am glad to hear that you are feeling better. And don't be too scared about a 2 year old and newborn...it is managable at least most days....just don't expected to get much done (especially in the beginning) and then you'll be fine.
I'll have to let you know how having a 1 year old and 3 year old at the same time is later! :)
Glad all is well.

PS. Megan (Mortensen) Wilson now has a blog which I have linked on mine in case you want to get caught up on her little family as well!
yay! i hadn't heard since you found out the sex of the baby. how exciting. and you'll do fine with two little ones, as long as you keep your expectations reasonable (don't expect to have a clean house or to do your hair for a while!)
Congratulations! That is so fun! Have you guys thought of any names yet? It sounds like you guys have been super busy. I was just saying to Brian the other day that you hadn't posted in a while, so I'm glad to hear you are back at it. You are such a good writer and your blogs are always so interesting! Brian was really excited about his conversation with Dan last night. He thinks Dan should go for it!
A BOY!!!
Congrats on news #1 & #2!
congratulations on the upcoming addition, and on the new job.
Ashley...Congratulations on #2! I can totally relate to the anxiety of managing a new born and a 2 year old! Believe it or not... but it really isn't so bad! I'm so glad that you blog hopped over to my blog! So glad to hear that you and yours are doing good! Keep in touch!
