CHEERIO FOLLOW-UP

Dan is completely freaked out. Well okay, maybe just a little.

After the cereal incident, he's been watching Calli closely to see if she might not be able to enjoy her childhood in a carefree manner. This because she may have that horrible self-inhibiting syndrome, perfectionism.

He figured she was normal, until the other night.

At bedtime, Calli put a few teddy bears in her crib. (She's very into these stuffed things right now. She's doing imaginative play with them... dressing, feeding, diapering and so on.) She wanted to sleep with them and so we agreed. We laid her down with her PILE of bears in the corner.

Later on, before we went to bed, Dan went in to check on her and this is what he found:

That's right. ALL OF HER TEDDY BEARS LINED UP PERFECTLY. She'd moved them from the pile into a line before she fell asleep. "Even the little one!", he said. This was, like I mentioned earlier, a little odd to him at first, but really quite funny later on. I think I have convinced him that she is fine. She's just a little girl who was playing Mother Hen, "getting all her ducks in a row."

Completely normal, completely cute.

This is so funny!! Can we say OCD??? LOL. Just let her hang out with my girls--Calli will be breaking off Barbie heads/limbs and destuffing those animals in minutes.

LOL! The Cheerio story is hysterical! Poor thing was just trapped and all daddy could do was stand by and watch her try and get out of her "cheerio prison". Haley would've made me pick her up if she were that particular but she's not :) Haley really got into the imaginative play thing a few months before I had Kori. It's so cute to see them mothering at such a young age. Right before I had Kori, Haley was putting her baby in time out. I died laughing. I kept asking her,"Why is baby in the corner?" She would say,"No mommy. Baby in time out." Then she would turn to face her baby and say, "Stay baby. Stay." Oh, the things they learn from their own experiences.

Berrett and I just got the biggest laugh out of this. "Even the little one!" was our favorite part. You're right, that is completely cute!!

Don't worry, it is totally normal. Because I have boys I tend to notice the huge difference in how boys play, and how girls play. A lot of the little girls I know line up their toys regardless of what kind of toy it is.
My boys just seem to scatter toys rather then actually play with them.
