Calli has two parents who are kind of particular and neat.
Apparently, she is too.
Just last week, I noticed a small corner of a rug in our room was flipped over the wrong way, showing the backside and the tag. She walked by it. Then she walked back and flipped the corner of the rug back over the right way and then went on her way.
Or on Sunday, I was chopping vegetables for dinner and had turned out the garbage can from under my sink. It was poking out of the cabinet sideways so I could throw away vegetable ends with more ease. She saw it, walked over and pushed back in straight.
A few more...if something spills on the floor, we HAVE to pick it up. Even if it is in a restaurant and I try to tell her, "It's dirty. Let it go. They will clean it up." Doesn't work. Or if she walks by and some crumb or something attaches itself to her bare foot, she starts screaming "OCK" (off) and will not go further until her feet are free and clear of any debris.
Dan told me this story the other day that further illustrates my point. Here goes:
Dan was watching her one evening when I was out. He had given her a small bowl of dry Cheerios for a snack. She spilled them and they dropped to the floor, apparently, like a circle all around her. Dan said, "It was hilarious watching her trying to get out of her Cheerio prison. She didn't want to touch any of the dropped Cheerios with her feet, so she was trying to tip-toe around them. It took her like twenty minutes to get out."
Of course it would have been too much work to just pick up the spilled Cheerios to be out of her way! Oh well. I guess it could be worse. What do they say--cleanliness is next to godliness?

That is too cute! Blake is the same way... especially when food gets on him... eating rice is always a challenge! He has to stop eating to pick off any pieces from his lap that might have not made it from his plate to his mouth! Maybe it's the "engineer" in both our little ones (Nick's an Engineer too)!
so funny! i wish my kids cared about cleanliness....or my husband for that matter!! :)
cheerio prison -- that kills me! i wish i could have been there to see it.
I think it's crazy to see what things kids pick up from their parents. I can just imagine her tip toeing her way out of the cheerios!
Have her teach Tanner a few things, he needs it.
whoo-hoo! let's hope she keeps this up. she will be a good little helper to you in the years to come.
my kids tend to be anal about things like their foods touching each other but don't seem to mind their dirty socks on the floor. sigh.
