I SEW ADORE THEM

Not just my new curtains. But the people who helped me make them.

My mom and sister came in town for a few days and I have much to be grateful for.

First of all, my sister, who decided to come here instead of a fun city for her spring break, was awesome with Calli. She entertained her in the store while I was shopping for fabric. She changed diapers and put on jammies without being asked and without our little one even making a squeal. Amazing. She even unloaded the dishwasher with no prompt. Anyone need a nanny? She's great.

And my mom, where do I begin? No photos of her are to be found, because she is the one always behind the lens. She took the time to take a photo shoot in the park or to help me with any little tasks I have laying around to be done. She can whip together a sewing project in an hour (and will even stay up late finishing it despite having to catch an early flight the next morning) where as it would honestly take me weeks, maybe months to complete it. Calli is a very lucky girl to have a grandma so thoughtful, who does so much for her.

Our time together was quick, but well spent. And it was not all work. How fun to have a little break--to be able to shop, get a yogurt or two and be in the dictionary after a few rounds of Boggle! So thanks for the visit despite a long trip to get here. Calli is still wondering about the two of you and "what ya doin'?"

aren't moms and sisters the best? their visits are always big highlights. after living here for four years, we were fortunate enough to get my sister and her family to move nearby. now my mom is looking at houses in the neighborhood. i can hardly believe my good fortune.

the drapes look gorgeous.

The blogging world helps to 'ground' me. i take it for granted just how good i have it; with M.I.L. close and my mom about 1/2 hour away, i need to be more thankful.
